Cooper hosts visit from Representative Ilhan Omar

On March 17, Cooper High School (CHS) was honored to welcome U.S. Congresswoman Ilhan Omar for an engaging question-and-answer session with students. 

In the hour-long session, students asked a wide variety of questions of Rep. Omar, including about current policies, how she got engaged in politics, and what she feels most proud of. Rep. Omar encouraged students to engage in their community and feel confident in themselves. 

“It was an immense pleasure to host Congresswoman Omar,” said CHS Principal Shaunece Smith. “Our student leaders in the building had thoughtful questions for her and were excited to interact with her on topics that matter to them.”
